Huge news from Mark Ellis Media HQ
I've teased it for far too long - the new academy is FINALLY ready for registrations!
I’ve been teasing it for ages, but I can finally announce that the new version of my Academy for aspiring creators has been officially launched!
Don’t worry - it isn’t actually underway just yet. In fact, there’s still plenty of time to prepare and grab the early bird offer, because the next cohort doesn’t kick off until January 2024!
That means you can hit the ground running next year as an inspired, hungry content creator with the best possible jumpstart as a member of Solo Club - The Creator Academy!
I have a lot planned for this. Let’s get into it!
The Creator Academy will be a self-paced, drip-fed course. Every couple of weeks, members will be sent a brand new module presented by yours truly. There are 14 modules in total, divided across four stages.
It looks like this:
Stage 1: Mindset
Module 1: Finding your purpose
Module 2: Defining your sub-niche
Module 3: Building a content habit
Stage 2: Platforms
Module 4: Your website, Substack, and Medium
Module 5: YouTube
Module 6: Instagram and TikTok
Module 7: X (Twitter) and LinkedIn
Module 8: Podcasting
Stage 3: Creation
Module 9: Planning your content and ideation
Module 10: The art of storytelling
Module 11: Processes and content repurposing
Stage 4: Revenue and growth
Module 12: Sponsorships and affiliates
Module 13: Using metrics
Module 14: Community management
As I’ve noted previously, I want to use the Creator Academy as a way to lift the bonnet of my own business and reveal exactly how the engine behind Mark Ellis Reviews works. This will give people who want to follow in my footsteps a unique and unfiltered view of what it takes to create, build, and run a six-figure content empire.
The four stages of the academy represent the way in which I approach everything. Although I’m firmly in the creator mindset now, I needed to get into it right from the start, which is why the academy journey begins there.
The platforms through which I publish content have grown in number and scale, which is why our next stop is digging into the likes of YouTube, TikTok, Substack, and your own website. How does each one work? How should you approach them? What pitfalls are there? Is podcasting really worth all that effort?
Creation is the really exciting stage. It’s when your new mindset as a creator and the platforms you’ve chosen are finally put to work. You’ll write, film, talk, and edit your way through those initial stages of finding your voice and building your audience. My experience in all of those areas - and my obsession with processes - will ensure you don’t feel lost from the word go.
My guess is that, if the Creator Academy interests you, you’re looking to build a business - not a hobby. That’s why we finish with revenue and growth, where I reveal how to find and work with sponsors, the importance of affiliate revenue, and why metrics should be your guiding light.
Creator Academy members will also receive bonus material to help them navigate each stage, and gain access to live bi-weekly check-ins with me, where they can come armed with any questions that have arisen from the modules they’ve been working on.
Did I mention that there’s a free Discord server full of budding creators you can join for free today, too? Well, there is, and the link is here! Academy members will get access to private channels that are designed to aid their progress in the course via community interaction and support.
As part of the Creator Academy launch, I’m also finally getting my backside into gear in terms of publishing fresh content on the Solo Club YouTube channel. You can expect the return of regular, helpful videos, podcasts (featuring Patrick Rambles, Greg Preece, and many more), and day-in-the-life vlogs.
I’m feeling rather excited about the next few months! Are you?
