Received a lovely email from a subscriber overnight. Here’s an excerpt:
I just want to comment that I liked your most recent review of the M1& M3 iMacs comparing the performance of the Intel iMac. It generated a lot of comments, which is good and I believe that's what you wanted. However, I feel a few of the comments were inappropriate. It's great to have active discussion and a range of comments and opinions. However, some people seem to like to demean people or belittle their views. It's easy for them to do it because they feel anonymous, however, they're really jerks. I'm sure that due to your nature you do well at handling them. However, I'm sure it bothers you at times. Especially when you clearly stated what you were trying to do with that comparison both prior to starting and again at the end.
He’s referring, of course, to my iMac video that was published last weekend. He didn’t have to send that email - I’ve never felt compelled to email any of the people I follow on YouTube. But he did, which makes him an utterly lovely person.
I’m not bothered personally by the reaction to the iMac test (I genuinely don’t care enough about RAM configurations to get upset), but it has been rather wearing to have the same exact criticism levelled at you over, and over, and over again.
I get the bloody point!
